Owner & Founder of Pennywise Trendsetter
♥Hello, dear Trendsetters!♥
My name is Natasha Palatova and I am the brain and face behind Pennywise Trendsetter. You may recognize me as the individual frequently modeling the clothes that I find at Pennywise prices. I am so glad that you have come to visit my page! It really means the world to me to have you here.
I am a single mother of a beautiful 11-year-old daughter named Sasha and also the sole caregiver for my disabled 59-year-old mother, Irina.
(Sasha and I, August 2018, teaching her how to unlock her locker for her first day of Middle school!)
During the day, I work as a social worker with disabled individuals facing homelessness. The program I work for helps assist these individuals with their rent, utilities and provides them with transportation assistance and a monthly bag of hygiene and cleaning supplies. Even though it sounds like a pretty comprehensive program, it is still severely lacking when it comes to the true amount of services that these individuals need. It is a very high-stress job that has me telling people that I cannot help them with the majority of the problems that they are facing.
After I get home, I get to focus on my family and on my passion:
Since I was a little girl, I have loved clothes. I actually forgot how much I was into fashion as a little girl until I found old drawings of mine, where I planned starting my own fashion line called “Polly.”!
I was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in the former USSR and immigrated here when I was 4 with my mother. I grew up being poor and a bit chubby, two things that have helped cultivate and create Pennywise Trendsetter. Having low funds throughout my life made me extremely thrifty and fluctuating in weight has given me experience in dressing fashionably for my ever changing body type. At my heaviest, I was around 215 pounds, so to say that I was “chubby” was to put it lightly!
My main goal is to help you find your unique sense of style and not having to break your bank to do it. Pennywise Trendsetter recognizes that often times what you see in magazines is not a reflection of the true trends that are being worn by the majority of the population, it’s what they are trying to influence you to want to wear. We are the trendsetters!
A quote by Coco Chanel really sums this up:
“People laughed at the way I dressed, but that was the secret of my success. I didn’t look like anyone.”
I will help you express who you are through your wardrobe, all while helping you save money for the really important things in life. Thank you for visiting my website and I really hope that I can assist you on your fashion discovery journey!
